2016 Rosenkrans Awards:

Background: The Rosenkrans Award was established in 1977 in honor of the late David Rosenkrans.  David was one of the driving forces behind the establishment and success of the Liberty Township Athletic Association (LTAA) in the 1970's.  He coached Liberty Township Little League Baseball and Independence Township midget football.  David died at the young age of 36.  In memory of David’s dedication to LTAA and the Liberty Township, the Rosenkrans Award was established. 

Award:  The winners of the award receive a $50.00 gift card, a trophy and their names put on the Mother Cup.  The Mother Cup is a trophy that resides in the Liberty Township Municipal Building and lists all the winners of the award.   The award recognizes both a male and female student who is in 8th grade, a Liberty resident and has scored the highest in the award academic and sports criteria. 

Criteria:  2 points are awarded for participating in sports programs and 1 point awarded for each of the 1st three marking periods that a student makes the honor roll and 2 points for each high honor.

Winners:  This year’s winners are Samantha Cerami and Brett Wilson.

Samantha participated in field hockey, basketball, volleyball and lacrosse during her 8th grade year.  She also achieved High Honor Roll for all three marking periods.

Brett participated in three sports; soccer, basketball and baseball during his 8th grade year.  He also achieved Honor Roll for the first marking period.

2015 Rosenkrans Award Winners:

Winners: This year’s winners are Cierra Page and Max Crowder.

Cierra participated in cheerleading and basketball during her 8th grade year. She also achieved High Honor Roll the first marking period and Honor Roll for the second and third marking periods.

Max participated in wrestling and lacrosse during his 8th grade year. He also achieved High Honor Roll for all three marking periods.

The LTRC is a volunteer based organization and only with your help can we provide programs for the town of Liberty. We currently have the following positions open:

  • Field Coordinator

If you might be interested in any of the above positions or would like more information, please contact a member of the LTRC or the Town Clerk.

Volunteers Still Needed for the following Activities:

Activity #1, Painting of the LTRC shed at the Liberty School fields

(This activity requires your ability to prep and paint. Supplies can be provided by the LTRC. This activity should only take a couple hours.)

Take notice that, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, PL 1975, the regular meetings of the Liberty Township Recreation Commission are to be held on the fourth tuesday of each month, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Liberty Township Municipal Building, 349 Mountain Lake Road, Great Meadows, NJ 07838
